Review & Swatches: Matte BK polish by Born Pretty Store

Born Pretty Store send me this nail polish to review. Normally, I don't really like mattes, but I have to say that this one grew on me.

This polish applies very easy, I used one thin coat, and then another thicker second coat.

The polish looks glossy in the bottle and when you first apply it. BUt as it starts drying, it starts getting matte.

You can find the polish here, and it costs only 4,36 dollars.

I wanted to do something fun with it, so I added some Konad images over a few nails.

I used a purple holographic polish by Teeez to stamp the design on the nails, and I love the effect it gives.

I wore this polish to work, without a topcoat, for several days. And I was amazed at the NO CHIPPING part of it.
Especially since these last few days we did a lot of things that involved a lot of nail chipping with other polishs I wore before. I can really recommend this polish to stay on your nails for several days.

Have you ever tried a BK polish? What did you think?

Tag: Lipsticks

I was tagged by the lovely Lene for this one.

several lippies I collected over the years

1. When you were a child, did you use your mother’s lipsticks?

Yes, I think I did. But I remember having my own aswell. Took a while though, because when I was little, I was highly allergic to any kind of makeup.

2. How old were you when you bought your first lipstick?

I have no idea, probably pretty young, I loved playing with makeup when I had a day off, with nothing to do. I'm guessing it was from Collection 2000, I owned a lot of that brand back then, and Theatre aswell.

3. Pink or red lipstick?

Red, but unfortunately, reds are more prominent, so its easier to spot when they bleed. And -all- lipsticks bleed on my lips. I've been wearing more pink lately, but never  a real nude. I don't like those, and I'm way to pale for them anyway.

4. The most expensive lipstick you have ever bought?

Chanel, I've got 2 now, and totally love them. Bought them with a discount/gift certificate. Around 21 euros a piece if I remember correctly.

5. And the cheapest?

2 for 79 cents at Action probably, haha.

6. What’s the most bizarre thing you have done with lipstick?

I wrote poems and sentences that meant something to me all around the mirror that was stuck inside my closet door. Dad did NOT like it, when I moved out and he had to clean that up.

7. If you had to recommend a lipstick, which brand would you recommend and why?

I think Gosh and Catrice are pretty good lipsticks for the price you pay. They also have a wide range of colours, not just nudes, pinks and red. But also, black, lilac, berry and such.

NOTD, A purple Jane Doe by Color Club

This is an old NOTD with one of the polishes I bought at Auryn, when the showroom opened.

It's a beautifull purple glitter polish by Color Club, but it doesn't have a name sticker, so I called it Jane Doe.

 SPARKLES!

It's definately gorgeous, and if anyone knows the name, please let me know :)

I love wearing sparkles and  holos and such in the summer/sunny time, how about you?

Thanx to a visitor we now think the name of this polis is : Too Violet

EOTD: Extreme Butterfly Look

Today, it's my mom's birthday, and because of that, I wanted to do something special. My mom is the greatest mom in the world, so she deserves something special :) She absolutely adores butterflies, so I thought it would be fun to recreate one of her favourites, the Papilio Machaon (also known as a common swallowtail), with makeup.

Products I used:

Sleek sunset, Catrice (LE) Lashes to Surprise, Born Pretty Store nail art stones, Sugarpill Steall, Gosh palette(name was lost due to a sticker), Barry M kohlpencil, Gosh Black Ink eyeliner. Later on I added a bit of Sugarpill Starling aswell.

I used the Hema eyeshadowbase on the side of my eye, to make sure the eyeshadow would stay put and show up on cam. Then I used the Barry M kohlpencil to draw the baseform of the butterfly. I also made a little line above my eye, that ended in the butterflywing.

Then I started filling it in with the yellow Gosh eyeshadow. This one didn't hold well on cam, so later on I added some yellow from the Sunset Sleek palette.

I used the blue from the Sunset palette aswell. Same with the small dot of red on the bottom.

Then I added the Catrice lashes with the silver butterflies and the little line below my eye.

I used the Born pretty store nail art stones, to add some bling to the look. I also used it for the red dot, to make it pop out more. I liked the effect so much, that I did the same with the yellow pieces on the side.

After taking some pics, I decided to add some Sugarpill Starling to the blue areas to give it some more bling.

I also added some Sugarpill Stella, to give it some extra sparkles in the black spots.

Finally, I re-drew the outlines with Gosh Black Ink, because the kohlpencil wasn't dark enough for the pics.

And this is the end result:

So, what do you think?
I posted a little sneak preview of this look a while ago, when I just did it, and Kashmira liked it so much, she did her own version of it. Check that one out HERE.

Mom,
congratulations on this special day.
I hope you like this post, and I'll see you soon.
I love you!

More Born Pretty Store Stuff!

Born Pretty Store contacted me again, if I'd like to review some more products. I really wanted to try some of their new stuff out, so I picked 5 other items.
Unfortunately, the package never arrived and was probably lost in the mail :(

I contacted Born Pretty Store and they send me another package. So sweet :)

I got some feather lashes, a purple nailpolish, a red(almost orange) crackle polish(which makes totally different crackles than most), a green eyeliner pencil and a nail tool to push my cuticles down and such.

As usual, I'll be reviewing these on the blog, as soon as I've used them a couple of times.

NOTD: Colour changing nailpolish by Blaze

This is an old NOTD, because even though I didn't feel like blogging a while ago, I did still do my nails and makeup.

This is one of the Blaze polishes I bought at the Auryn showroomopening. It's a beautifull limegreen with lots and lots of sparkle.

Unfortunately,  it need several layers before you really see some colour on your nails, and even then, it's a bit see through.

SPARKLE!!!!

Normally I don't really like see through polishes, but this one is special. It still has a load of glitter that covers your nail, but it also changes colour in the sun! This one changes form a lime green to a light red.

It's really fun to watch, and I heard several oohs and aahhs aaround me when we were watching them change colour.

It's a bit hard to catch the light colours on cam with so much sunlight around me, but I did my best.

I thought I did not know how this colour is called, since the bottom sticker is gone, but then I remembered I bought 2. It's called From Jubilee to Vino.

EOTD: Lumi and Starling, Sugarpill Look

The photos aren't all very focused, I have no idea why, but I want to apologise for it anyway :)

This is a look from a while back, where I used only Sugarpill's Lumi and Stella, next to eachother.

I'm not sure if I used Stella or Magpie in the outer V though, It's one of those two.
Then I used the Catrice Metallic Eyeliner 'Miracle Clouds' from the LE collection: Enter Wonderland.
It's a beautifull metallic eyeliner with a gorgeous shimmer in it.

Blow my eyes I used a midnight blue eyeliner by Essence.

It's a very simple EOTD, I just wanted to add some colour to my black and white outfit, and the stripes of my top reminded me of a marine look, therefor, the blue. :)

My first Sheet mask

As I've showed you in a previous blog, Suzy  send me some sheet masks.

This is a strawberry sheet mask, which smelled like..you guessed it..strawberries.

If you don't unfold it correctly, like I wanted to, when I grabbed just 2 different ends, it looks like some weird origami. So study it first before you frustrate yourself!

It's really really wet, and I had to cut out the eyes a little more, ptherwise it would go into my eyes. Probably because my nose is too big and take up too much room of the mask...lol.

This is what you take off:

And this horrible creature is something you'll resemble when you use this. I'm melting meeeeelllltiiiing!

Loki definately loved this mask, because he tried to take it from me several times..

It was a werid feeling to have something like this on my face. I let it stay for about 25 mins, and then took it off. My face was still pretty wet from the mask, so I cleaned it a bit with a cotton pad.
I'm not totally sure if this has done something for my skin, because I did still have some dry patches. But then again, I tend to have those no matter what I put on. It's one of the reasons I dislike foundation, because only then, they really show up effectively.
My skin does feel really soft, and it didn't irritate in any way, so that's always a plus in my book. It means it can be used on sensitive skin.
I can't tell you anything about the price or where to purchase it though, you'll have to ask Suzy ;)

A package from the lovely Suzy

A while ago, I send Suzy a package, because life was bringing her down, and I don't like it when that happens to good people. So I send her some stuff, I hope she'd like, to try and bring some light and smiles into her life.
I never intended for her to send me something back though...
Suzy is a sweet girl, who can be an inspiration to anyone, just read her blog and you'll know what I'm talking about.
She is sweet, but I found out, she is totally insane aswell!
Look at all the stuff she send me:

This beautifull box was waiting for me, after I got home from a difficult day at work.

I love this packing stuff, this way you can ''search'' for all the goodies inside. :)

She also included a lovely card, with a little P.S. about the oil. Thanx Suzy, because I can not read Chinese/Japanese, hahaha.

SO MUCH GOODIES!!!!! I'm so gratefull, she spend the time doing this for me, I really am.

Look at all the kewl stuff! Inecto Cleansing Wipes(never used wipes before),  a DollyWink eyeliner(cute packaging!), Dove therapy for hair, an honest to gawd CUPCAKE mug(so adorable!) and (read from little card) Tsubaki hair oil.

A Kruidvat giftcard(why??? it was already so much! I bought Suzy's holy grail with it, seemed appropriate to me ;)  )
John Frida Frizz Ease Shampoo and conditioner, which I think will be perfect for hubs, who has the most frizzy and curly hair besides an afro.
Jukyo Soap Ltd. bodylotion, Jasmine loves blossom.(awww)
A really cute hairbow, which is attached to an elastic band. I'm going to put it onti a little clip, so I can wear it more easily. :)
Sheetmasks!!! Everyone who knows Suzy, knows how she feels about these, I always wanted to try them out.
2 Beautymate Srawberry masks, A Blooming of Beauty Tulip mask, and one that I can NOT read, lol.
Also, a sample of Givenchy, Pi, which is funny enough one of my favs on hubs nowadays :)
And a sample of Yes to Carrots Deliciously Rich Body Butter.

That's one insane package, right? Thank you so much, once again Suzy. It came at just the right time, when I needed something positive in my life .:)
