Hair Spray And Perfume

I had to work on Halloween, so I wanted to dress up, but still have a practical outfit.

I wore a black vest, a black pleated skirt, and black/red striped stockings. On top of that I wore my little red riding hood cape, and thats it.


I kept my makeup pretty simple:


I also bought a big bowl of Halloweencandy, and put it at the registry. Kids loved me, ahahahhaa.

Goal: To find a truly natural Shampoo that cleans, without leaving my hair greasy and makes my hair feel like conventional Shampoo!

• Amount Of Product Used For It To Be Effective: Slightly larger than the size of a quarter (I have really long, thick hair at the moment).
• First Impression: Smells like mild Peppermint Patties... Yummy!
• Visual Attractiveness: I have a trial size, so I'm not sure what the full size bottles look like. I plan to order the full size soon though, so I will update when I do.
• Texture: Thick, velvety, sudsy, and pearly- just like conventional shampoo... it's sooo nice!  
• Scent: As I mentioned earlier, like mild Peppermint Patties... I LOVE it!
• How Long I've Used It: Twice. Now, I'm usually not one to do a review unless I've used something for a little while- but with shampoos & conditioners- I've pretty much known right off the bat if they were going to work for me or not. This is probably THE BEST natural Shampoo I've come across so far (and I know everyone has been asking me for hair product reviews, so I just wanted to put one up). I will update if anything changes.

• Verdict: Honestly, I was afraid it was going to be too minty at first. Although I love candy canes and  chocolate chip mint ice cream, etc... blah, blah, blah- I don't usually like any kind of minty stuff  for my body and hair stuff because it tends to be overly cool, tingly and way too strong! I have to say that this is nothing like that at all in this case, which is really awesome! Joy, from Natural Joy Beauty also said that it reminded her of a conventional salon shampoo and to my surprise- I couldn't agree more. It's gives you a really rich, luxurious lather (which is unusual for truly natural shampoo- in my opinion), it feels really fresh, clean and smooth, spreads very easily (also uncommon with naturals) and rinses very well. It did leave my hair a little too 'squeaky'...  but I'm not complaining, because at least I know it's clean... unlike MANY of the other naturals I've tried.... UGH! Please see my matching Conditioner Review here! She also said every now and then, she adds a little baking soda to get a really deep clean, if she needs it... I don't feel like I even need it with this one- and I can't even tell you how much I LOVE the smell! I caught  myself repetitively walking in my bathroom sniffing it- just to make sure I reallyyyyyy liked the scent of it, ha-ha. I don't know what's wrong with me LOL. Don't judge. I would definitely buy this again! Thanks Organic Excellence... You are the BOMB! Thank you for making safe products with awesome ingredients that work! And also to Natural Joy Beauty for selling sample sizes at VERY affordable prices and doing all the meticulous work for us! Mmmmwah!

• Verdict: Ok, so let me start by saying that I am a reformed Pantene Conditioner (& shampoo, but more conditioner) Addict... like loyal- ever since I can remember washing my own hair! Now that's a looooong time! Whether it was a $100.00 bottle or $1.00 bottle of conditioner, I always went back to Pantene... like a crack-head, it was the only thing that ever got the tangles out (without killing me). I have really long, thick, curly/ frizzy dark, color treated hair that tangles VERY easily, especially by the nap of my neck. OUCH! So, conditioner is one thing that I really need to perform in that sense. I will admit that when I initially rinsed my hair from the shampoo for the first time, (See my Review of the matching Shampoo here)- I had a little bit of doubt about this. I'm always skeptical of new conditioners though. My hair was a little more 'squeaky' clean than I preferred... however, once I used the conditioner- my hair totally came back to life!  Although I do wish that this helped me get the tangles out a little bit better, it seemed to work miracles other than that, both times I've used it. Hurray! Also, OMG, you know that feeling you get when you're rinsing out the conditioner- that silkiness (that you pray isn't just excess conditioner you couldn't get out)? Well- it moisturizes your hair without weighing it down- and stays like that! WOW... just like a salon conditioner! I Love You Organic Excellence & Smooches to Natural Joy Beauty too for being such a life-saver! I've been having such a difficult time finding natural hair products that work for me...

Goal: To find a natural facial mask to clear up my complexion and remove toxins from my body.
Brand I Tried: Face Naturals.
Product: Purify Mask for Oily and Blemish-Prone Skin.
Product Description: Oily, blemish-prone skin has met its match! French green clay has amazing oil absorbing properties. • Amount Of Product Used For It To Be Effective: I followed the directions on their website and mixed a ratio of about 1-2 tsps. of the mask with about 1-2 tsps. of water (It all depends on how thick you like your mask).
• First Impression: I heart almost all clay masks!
• Visual Attractiveness: Simple, basic packaging. The one I received came with a white label, I like the look of the clear one (as pictured above) better, and also because it's probably more water-proof.
• Texture: Light green powder, like Aztec Secret or Living Clay.
• Scent: Don't sniff this! Ew.
• How Long I've Used It: Twice so far... I got the full size jar which should last me for about 6-8 more uses (depending on how thick I make it).

• Customer Service: I've spoken with Christy, the owner of Face Naturals on several occasions through email. She has always responded to my questions right away and is willing to work with their customers one-on-one until they find the perfect product matches for them. She also mentioned that she is happy to educate any who will listen about the toxic cocktails so many put onto their skin every day without a thought of the dangers involved.... always a plus to hear that! I really like how she has a "Christy's Notes" section on all her favorite products and tells you the real deal about the products(she mentioned that this mask happens to be her personal fave)... and even gave me a few tips on different ways to customize it such as- adding honey (for the sugar acids), well mashed strawberries (astringent, great for oily/blemish skin), cucumbers & water (run through a mini food processor, very hydrating and soothing), coconut milk is a great add-in if you have dry skin that tends to lean toward blemishes, and even dairy milk or cream. She also suggested that slightly warmed water or warmed add-ins mix better and the best time to apply is after a hot shower, steam facial or  using a damp hot cloth (to open your pores)... clays draw more out of skin when it is prepped to receive it. But what I like most of all- is that they use really pure ingredients in their products! Woo-Hoo... Rock on FN!

• Verdict: Ok, so you all know how I totally heart clay masks, right? I think clay is the best thing to EVER happen to blemish prone skin (besides changing your diet)! It is has honestly been a life-saver for me (especially after my crack addiction-like Proactiv fiasco!). I always try to pamper myself and do these at least once a week- my 'Sunday Night Special' ha-ha. I've never used a mask that contained Green Tea before... I usually just use pure clays (since I also like to take clay baths and use them all over my body as a wrap), so I think it was a nice addition. It made my skin appear clear, smooth and soft like velvet. One thing I do have to mention though is that I wish that the size and the instructions were marked on the actual bottle... I had to go online to their website and look them up. Other than that, I LOVED it! I can chalk this up on my list of favorite clay facial masks... Thank You Face Naturals for being another great company that offers exactly what we're looking for... truly natural, organic ingredients in products that work... and affordable "Try Me Sizes"!
