Pink & Purple

This look was made with some eyehadows by a brand I haven't used before in a blog. So I thought it might be fun to post it here and see if any of you know the brand.

Products I used:
  • Gosh eyeshadowbase
  • L'oreal Lash Architect, Midnight black mascara
  • Gosh velvet touch eyeliner Funky Violet
  • Gosh velvet touch eyeliner Purple Stain
  • Mylene eyeshadow no. 25, no. 32 and one darker pink without a sticker , I think it was no. 26 or something like that.
  • EDM eyeshadow, ballet slippers

As usual I started with the eyeshadowbase and eyebrows. After that I applied the EDM eyeshadow as a highligter below my brows and towards my crease. It's a soft really pale lavender colour that works with the other colours I've used.
On the inner corner of my eye I used the light pink colour and applied this one a little in the crease aswell. On the other corner of my eye I used the darker pink(without the number sticker) and applied this one in the crease aswell. These colours go perfect together, especially if you blend them a little.
After that I applied some no. 32 eyeshadow, which is a blueish purple colour. Just a little on the outer corner and on the outside of the crease, to give it that bit of extra colour.

I used the Funky Violet as an eyeliner above the eye, and the Purple Stain below the eye. The latter one brings out that no. 32 eyeshadow I used in the outer eyecorner. After applying a little mascara, the look is finished.

Below is a fullface picture, for the lips I used the Mac prep+prime and Mineral Lipstick no. 49N by Manhattan.

Valentine products 2010 by Lush, Preview!!!

Here's a sneak preview of the new Limited Edition Valentine products by Lush.

Products will be in stores as of jan 23rd!

Every year, Lush makes some very special products for valentinesday. This year we have 3 new products and 2 gifts. These are wonderfull for you secret valentine, but are ofcourse just as lovely for your partner, friend, or familymember. And don't forget yourself, you don't want to miss these products, because you never know if they will be back.

Magic Mushroom Bubble Bar Slice (€4.25 a piece)

Lush is very good at making love spells, but they only work on people who are available, so not on people who are already taken or anything like that. This magic mushroom gives you the confidence to conquer that love of your life(or just the night).
This lovely mushroom is very special, because it is made up from 2 different Lush scents: Vanillary in the white parts and Yummy Yummy Yummy in the red part. This will bewitch anyone who bathes in it!
You can just crumble it under running water and you'll get a bathtum fill of foam.

X-Factor Bath Ballistic (€3.95 a piece)

The X-Factor is a bath balisstic with two stories. In one story the heart of this man is burning with passion for you and you both can't wait to get together. In the other story, the man has broken your heart , whcih gives him the eX factor. In that story you break his little neck, arms and legs to dissolve him in the water of your tub. Either way you'll have a lovely bath filled with Ylang Ylang.

Love Soap (€4.95 a piece, 80gr)

We already had a love soap at last years Valentinesday, but this year it comes with a different scent. This year it's full of jasmine and ylang ylang. If I remember correctly, it's the same scent asSex Bomb(the ballistic).
Since Lush is all for saving the environment, we want to procide you with this soap, so you can both use the shower at the same time and save some water. That's not just good for the environment, but for your relationship aswell. Btw, the oils that are used in this soap have been known for centuries, for their powers of seduction...

Be Mine (€24.95)

This gift was made last year aswell, but this year it has a different content. The packaging is the same, because it's just really adorable with the be mine tattoo print.
Contents:  Flying Fox showergel, Soft Coeur massagebar, Sex in the Shower emotibomb and Love soap. This gift is perfect for one very steamy night together, but ofcourse it's just as nice a gift for anyone who likes Lush products with sensual oils and scents aswell.

Guess Who? (€39.95)

All good Valentine's cards are signed with a questionmark, so this gift is a really good substitute for such a card. The heart-shaped box is also another Valentine tradition, so this is a very traditional gift. Perfect if you don't know what to buy.
Contents: Yummy Yummy Yummy showergel, Sex Bomb bath ballistic, Heavanilli massagebar, Whipstick lipbalm, Sex in the Shower emotibomb and Sexy Peel soap.
Not only are these really nice products which you can use for yourself and/or your (newly found) partner, but the box is re-usable when you've used all the products. It's a great box for storaging makeup, jewelry or other things that are important to you. You can even make it into a memorybox for your (newly found) love..

Gosh Moodboard Spring 2010

As a Gosh ambassador we were asked to make a moodboard for the springlook.
I've never done anything like that before, but I always like to learn new things.

I started with thinking about spring, and what kind of colours would pop into my head. Immediately I thought of bright flowers, new grass and soft coloured blossoms.
After that I just started searching online for pics I could use to creat a photocollage.
Now I've never used photoshop and I couldn't really do it all in paint, because that would look just awefull. I needed a little help. Thanx to Sarah who helped me with some collage-ideas and putting together the colourchart with the pic I provided: you are the best!
And thanx to hubs, who sat with me behind the computer, while I told him what I wanted. And of course for listening to all my bitching, and for making the collage that was in my head. Love you!

This is spring to me, bright yellows and purples,  new leaves and grass, and lots of blossoms. Spring always surprises me with the little flowers coming out at the first sign of spring, and with all their brightness and loveliness. So here is my moodboard, Surprising Spring:

What is your spring look?

Chocolate Smoky

Yesterday I made a look with some browns and a grey colour.

I haven't used much products to create this look:
  • Gosh Trio TR2, I think it's calles Smokey, but i'm not sure, the name has been ripped off with the tape.
  • Essence  longlasting eyepencil no. 2 Hot Chocolate
  • Gosh Flirty Curl mascara

I applied this trio as I mostly do. The lightest colour in my inner eyecorner, the middle colour next to that one. And in the crease the darkest colour. This trio applies easily and gives a great colour. The colours tend to become a little more intense after blinking a couple of times, so I really need a good base for it. I used the Gosh Waterproof eyeshadowstick Love that beige as a base this time.

The eyeliner below my eyes and some mascara, makes up the look. This eyeshadow seems a bit softer than other trios and easier to blend. Maybe because it's a trio especially for smokey eyes, I don't really know. I like the colours though, they are a bit different than most smokey palettes I know. I found it in a bargainbox some time ago, so I'm pretty happy with it

I applied some Mac lip prep+Prime, before I added some lipstick.
This one is a Gosh Velvet Touch lipstick, no. 86 Kitch. I love that packaing btw, very stylish.
The lipstick applies softly and doen't feel sticky. It really seems to care for your lips, since I don't have dried out lips after I've used it. It also contains an SPF of 6. Great for sunny days.

Since I've been having a runny nose, because of the cold, I applied a little Multitasking concealer(by EDM) on the sides of my nose. And this is what I looked like that day:

Toxic Chemicals In Cosmetics

January 12/10

On November 11/08, an article was written in the Toronto Star. I thought I should pass this on to my readers.

Twelve national health and environmental organizations are calling on Health Canada to speed up the process it uses to deal with toxins under the Chemical Management Plan and promote safer alternative products.
They are found in cosmetics such as perfume, hairspray, skin creams and cleansers, or in common household products such as, window cleaners, floor care products, pesticides and carpet cleaners.

The chemicals are:

* Pigment Red3 (2-Naphthalenol): found in nail polish, soap bars, plastic colorants and industrial painting inks.
*DEGME (2-Methoxyethoxy): a solvent found in household paints, pesticides, floor care products, window washer fluids, skin creams, cleansers, hairspray, and perfumes.
* 2-MEA (2-Methoxyethanol acetate): found in nail polish, dry cleaning treatments and glues.
* 2-Methoxypropanol: it is found in nail polish enamel and remover, hair conditions and sprays, false eyelash adhesives and removal solvents, and pesticides.

Make sure you read the ingredients in your products. And if there is no list on the packaging, you can write to the manufacturer and they will send it to you.
