NOTD: TMI with holographic skulls

This is the nailpolish, China glaze TMI, which is from the gorgeous OMG collection, with all holographic polishes.

With just a little sunlight, unfortunately, the sun was mostly gone:

Later on, I did a different mani with this polish, to match a retro dress with skulls and roses I own. So I added some holographic skulls on my nails, with Essence Gothic Girl(LE).

EOTD: Silver and Pink, LOTD: shimmery pink, OOTD: Vive Maria

I created an EOTD, to go with my Vive Maria dress. So I used som silver, black, and different pinks.

Wet 'n Wild SilverMatic, Catrice Gilbert's Grapefruit, Catrice Beryy Fairy (LE), Sugarpill Stella, Gosheyeshadowstick Love that pink!, Gosh Rose Gold.

I used the light pink colour on the inner corner of my eye, next to it I applied the darker pink.

On the outer corner I applied some light grey, which I also applied above the creaseline. Above that I applied some more of the darker pink. On all of the darker pink, I applied a bit of Rosegold for a nice shine.

Below my eyes, I applied some Gosh velvet touch eyeliner, Black Ink. And as a final touch, to give it some depth, I applied some Stella in my outer V.

For my lips I used: Gosh lipgloss 0022,  Gosh lipstick Bourgogne, Catrice lipliner Ruby. (why would you call a pink lipliner Ruby???) Anyway, I applied those in exactly the opposite way I've just mentioned them ;)

Which resulted in a nice sparkly pink.

Tag: What's on my nightstand?

I got this tag from Suzy, and at first I thought I wouldn't do it, because...well..there's not much of interest on my nightstand.
But I like tags, and it does give an insight into my life, so here goes:

This is my nightstand, it's not big, because I don't have much room at that side of the bed. I think it's better that way, because otherwise it would be even fuller than it is now. Or it'll become a favourite sleepingplace of one of my cats, haha.

So what's on it?

A touch lamp with 3 different kind of light intensities, which I can just reach, when I go around the pile of books on the right.

2 lipbalms, one by Lush, one by Vaseline. Mostly used if I wore lipstick that day, or when I've had dry lips.

Cathairs, haha, I've got a 6kg and an 8 kilo cat running around there at night, so there tends to be some cathair on my nightstand aswell.

LOTS and LOTS of books. I'm a reader, a big reader. I go through books like some people go through candy, haha. I tend to by complete series, the longer the series, the better. I own some that already have 20 books and are still being written. Unfortunately for me, I'm waiting for the newest books on about 10 series now. I tend to buy the english paperbacks, because thet are easy to carry with me and easier to hold in bed. But usually that gives me a year waiting time after the official release :(
Most of the books on there are fantasy. Some urban, some romantic, some teenbooks, but a lot of them is smutty fantasy.

When I go to bed, there are 2 more items on it: my keys, and my phone.

So, not really a lot of interesting stuff on my nightstand....sorry! :)

Tip: Holographic Teeez! Nail Lacquers

I've tried to capture the holographic effect, but unfortunately, the sun is gone. So bare with me, and just trust me, when I see these are holographic ;)

These are the shades: Outta Control 01, Smooth 01, Cool 02

The colours are already beautifull, but when i looked at them closely, I noticed the little rainbows that formed with the light. I've tried my best without sunlight for you guys.

I looked up some swatches for you:

Gorgeous huh? These came from the Op=Op discount store and where, if I remember correctly, 4,5 euros. Which isn't bad for holo polishes. I didn't see any other holos, so I think these are the only ones.

CHI Orbit Double Dramatics Review

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been away for so long... a lot's happened. As you might know, I'm constantly on the lookout for a job in a salon...doing hair in my kitchen isn't as lucrative as I'd like it to be. And.. it's hard to write about my love for the hair industry and review all these products while being unemployed, you know? I'll try to be more frequent with my updates, for real this time.

Anyway, today I'm reviewing the CHI Orbit Double Dramatics curling iron. It's basically a clipless waving iron. I'm ALWAYS on the lookout for a good waving iron that gives true "S" waves instead of the usual shallow crimpy waves most waving irons give. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. While the waves the iron made weren't quite as sharp as other wavers I've tried, it's still not the effect I was looking for. It reminds me of the way Madonna or Britney Spears wears their hair in those tight waves, you know? I think if the rods were spaced farther apart and were a bit thicker in diameter it would've been perfect, but oh well. I'll be returning it this weekend. But, just for fun, I waved one of my mannequin heads to show you all the effect it gives. This iron might not be what I'm looking for, but it might be for you!

See what I mean? I mean it's cute and all, but the waves aren't as deep as I want. But what do you think? If that's the effect you want, I say go for it! The iron itself takes a little getting used to because it doesn't have a clamp, but you get it after a while. Also, the red part between the iron and the switch gets VERY hot, so be careful.

The MSRP of the iron is $205.00, but I've never seen it anywhere that high. I'd guess it's somewhere around $150.00 but shop around and I'm sure you'll get a better price than that. Well that's all for now. Stay tuned!

Oh yeah, and it came with this cool thermal glove. I think it belonged to Michael Jackson.

On a completely unrelated note, go out and pick up this month's issue of ELLE magazine. Gwen Stefani, my queen, is on the cover!
