New! Holographic eyeshadow by Essence (normal collection!)

I know many of you have been drewling over the Meet me @ Holographics.com collection by Essence, which is a limited edition. Bu my collegue told me that Essence also had 2 holographic eyeshadows in the normal collection. Ofcourse I had to check those out. Since I was at work, and she had a day off, she bought them for me, and brought them to my work. Awww so sweet :)

There are two of these eyeshadows in the collection, as far as I could tell. But maybe there are even more in a bigger Kruidvat, I don't know.
They aren't holographic, as they are labeled, but they ARE beautifull duochromes!

Mystic lemon is a oft yellow, that gets a beautifull coppery sheen to it in sunlight.
Mystic purple is a soft grey, that turns into a lilac with a pink sheen, it's gorgeous!

I really think these would look great on the inner eyecorner, or maybe a subtle highlighter.

They were really hard to catch right on cam, because there isn't any sun today, so I applied them over a white and black base to show the colours better.

The white base gives the yellow one  a lighter copper shine in the sunlight, but it's mostly just yellow without the sun. The same with the grey one, it's mostly greyish  with a slight pearly pink glow, but in the sun the pink really comes out.

The black base really shows the duochrome best. The yellow turns into copper and the grey turns into purple.

The copper almost seems to have a green tinge in it with the right lighting and the purple definately has the pink shimmer.

Some more swatches:

I wish I had sunlight to show you how beautifull these colours are, but I did my best without it.It seems though that the pink is too shy to show up on cam.
I don't know the exact amount of how much these cost, but it's probably around 2 euros a piece.

Hair of the Day

This is a HOTD that was inspired by a blogpost by Serena. I wore this to work last friday, and I thought it was a nice change.

I'm wearing a cute scarf with flowers on it, that was wrapped around my head and tight into a ponytail with all of my hair. Then I made a braid on one side and braided the scarf with my hair. At the end I used another little elastic band to keep it all together.

I think it looks really cute and summery, and it's a very handu hairstyle if you're hair has become a bit greasy. ;)

Review: Zalando

You probably already know about the webshop Zalando, that is mostly known for it's shoes and clothes. A lot of blogs have already written a review about this webshop. And most of you will know that the majority of those reviews were far from positive. So when Zalando contacted me to review a product for them, I told them, that I've read a lot of negative things about them, and that I wasn't sure if I wanted to review them.I wasn't sure if they would email me back after that, but I believe in honesty and I don't want to write positive reviews about something I don't believe in. I did get an email from them though, and they still wanted me to review for them. :)
I believe in second chances and I told them, that as long as they didn't mind that I would write an honest review, I would do it. They gave me a voucher for 25 euro, which meant, that I had to spend at least 26 euros (which would be 1 euro from my own pocket) to use it.

So I looked at their website and finally I came upon this top by Guess:

Now I have to say, that I never look at brands just for the sake of the name, or buy tops this expensive.(Especially not because I can make my own clothing and I work in a clothingstore aswell) But the print really spoke to me, and hubby liked it a lot aswell. I finally decided that I thought this top was special and different enough, especially considering I only had to pay half of it. :)
I was a bit torn about the colour, because it might be too pale for me, but I decided that if it was, at least I could get to review the return policy aswell.

A few days after ordering, the package came:

It was all packed into a big box, very big for just one top.
It also had the special airpillows in it, to make sure nothing would break. Ofcourse this wasn't really neccessary with a top, but at least it was packaged well.

I heard a lot of people telling that there wasn't any bubblewrapping in their package when they ordered nailpolish, whih cause breakage, so I think they really learned from those experiences :)

The top itself is beautifull and fits really well. I might take in the waist a bit, but it's not really neccessary. And as long as I make sure to have a bit of colour on my face, it doesn't make me look too pale either. :)

So I was really happy with the product and the contact with the people of Zalando. They were very friendly in their emails, and I got to negotiate about the specific links they wanted me to use aswell. Which I think is really nice, because otherwise I would have had to use a link to something that just wasn't me :). I can't say anything about their return policy ofcourse, but I do think that they deserve a second chance.
We all have to learn and since they are a pretty new webshop, it's probably normal to have some obstacles and I think they learned a lot from their past experiences.

Zalando doesn't just sell shoes and clothes, but they also sell a lot of beauty products, so make sure to check them out. :)

For my Dutch readers:
Zalando Heeft een uitgebreid assottiment van schoenen en kleding. Zelf heb ik gekozen voor een topje van het Guess. Maar Zalando verkoopt bijvoorbeeld ook verschillende beautyproducten.

Celebrating + Free Gift!

Today, my blog exists for exactly 1,5 years. Normally I would do a giveaway to celebrate, but since I'm already having a giveaway for Linda's birthday (don't forget to participate!), I decided not to do one right now.
I'm probably doing another giveaway on my birthday, which is in August :)

I do want to thank everyone for reading my blog, and I especially want to thank the people who comment (regularly), you all make blogging a great thing to do :)

Ofcourse I did want you to have a gift, so check out Born Pretty Store for this FREE Hello Kitty Stampingplate!

It's really easy, all you have to do is 'like' them on facebook, go to this page on the site, place it in your shoppingcart and use the coupon code BP299 at the checkout. This way, the stampingplate is totally FREE. I did it myself, and the plate arrived a few days ago! If the code doesn't work, try a different day, because they give away 10 per day.

Btw, liking them on facebook, will make sure that they will give away more stuff soon! They are already talking about giving away free nail foils when they reach 10000 likes. But they also give away hello kitty nail sickers, or false lashes once in a while. I'll let you know, when they do :)

NOTD: Orly, Meet me Under the Mistletoe

Okay, so this is a christmas polish, but who cares? It's a great dark green colour with beautifull glitter in it.

The polish applies easily, and I used one thin coat, and a second thicker coat. It dried pretty quickly aswell.

The polish has beautifull glitter that looks like it's layered. I think it's different shades of green mixied together. It sometimes gives the effect of flakes in the sun.

These pics were unfortunately taken without sun, but trust me, when I tell you that this polish is gorgeous in the sunlight and really worth a try, even in the summer ;)
